How this category works
Nothing you enter is stored. No cookie, no local storage, no analytics event carrying your amounts. A bank's own EMI calculator does the same arithmetic wrapped in a lead-capture form, and the loan size you type there is a sales signal. Here it is a number that exists in the page while the page is open, and reloading returns the defaults.
The loan and investment calculators are two views of the same compounding maths. EMI answers what a borrowed sum costs per month and in total; SIP answers what a monthly sum becomes if it is invested instead. Both assume a constant rate, and on both pages we say what that assumption hides — floating rates on Indian home loans usually move the tenure rather than the instalment, and fifteen years of average equity returns arrive as a sequence of good and bad years whose order changes the outcome.
The other three are everyday arithmetic where the mistake is usually conceptual rather than numerical. Percentage change from zero is undefined, and a tool that reports a number there has invented it. Removing GST from a tax-inclusive price means dividing by 1.18, not subtracting eighteen percent — the single most common error in this area. Two stacked discounts of thirty and twenty percent leave you paying fifty-six percent of the original, not fifty. Each page explains the trap rather than just producing the answer, because the answer is not usually what people got wrong.
Every calculator states what it does not model: fees, taxes, inflation, mixed rates, prepayments. The arithmetic is exact for the assumptions listed, and where a real decision has more structure than a closed-form formula can carry, the pages say to build it in a spreadsheet instead.
